Something interesting caught my attention while a was reading wikipedia about microcredits. I followed a link to kiva.org and i realise that there are organisations providing microcredits to the poor online.

I found that the idea behind Kiva is brilliant and the good thing about it is that i can loan someone who really need small capital to expand their business somewhere in a thirdworld country. Noble intention should be shared and spread. I've mentioned about Kiva to my friends and family and some are interested and some have plenty of reason on how it can fail. I do respect their view but not necessary for me to agree on their points.

Anyway...if you're feeling good about your life and thinking of sharing your good life with others, Kiva can help you.

Recently, a Tamil movie titled Periyar was released. It's about E.V. Ramasamy, an atheist and founder of self-respect movement in India. The movie briefly go through Periyar's life story and also captured some significant event's happened during his time.

Although his principles might offend major population of the world, I personally find it very relevant for todays world. I realise that people today slowly slipping their rationality away and gripping tight on something which might be not relevant at all in todays world.

I admire the way Periyar approached his challanged at his time....it would only take someone with great will power and firm stand on his principles to achive what Periyar has achived and contributed to the world today. These values are now scarce among the leaders of the world.

It was my off day and my brother and I decided to go for an adventure trip. Our destination (initially) was to Tasik Kenyir...but somehow on the way we took the wrong diversion and end up somewhere near Gua Musang! Well....i must admit it's due to driving at wee hours in the morning. Anyway, keeping our mental status at positive level all the time, we decided to venture into least known gateway to National Park...Kuala Koh National Park.

The journey to this National Park is long but adventeruous! Driving through small towns and villages and cutting into Felda plantation was wonderful. Such a vast area of oil palm plantation with many cascades of mountains! Such a beautiful Saturday morning it was.

Spent sometime hiking into the limited perimeters of this National Park refeshes our mind which was desperately needed after hectic months at work.

It's a good place to observe wildlife such as Elephant, Deer, Tapir and wild cats. During a brief hike into the jungle we spotted fresh tracks from these animal.....wish i had enough time to camp overnight.....

The rumble of Merapi

For past few weeks, Mt. Merapi is being moody...spewing more smoke and lava. Most of the time Merapi is covered by thick mist and as if it's shy to reveal herself. I never had a good sight of her whenever i visit Central Java.

Sometimes, I find that Merapi and women shares a similar character. Most of the time their mysterious and shy. But when moody...both erupts!!! Atleast there are fulltime volcanologists monitoring Merapi. But what about women? I think every women should have a fulltime 'womenoligist' monitoring them. ;) ...Ladies no offence. It's only a joke.

Wanted to share some shots which i tool when i visited Babadan observatory. I really respect the staffs who work there particularly at this time as this observatory is only 4km from the mountain. My best wishes goes to those chaps working in Babadan observatory. Take care dudes!

Wildlife Watch : Nycticebus coucang

22:45hrs, 1st Feb 2005 :
Another wildlife encounter. This time, it's a Slow Loris (Nycticebus coucang). Caught by my brother near Seremban 2, just a few metres from my home. Poor creature was lost and found crossing the trunk road. Luck is on its side as there was no vehicle or dogs at that time. My brother took his jacket and covered it to keep it calm and took home. Later at that night we took it to a nearby hill and released it back to it's habitat away from busy roads and potential threats. Good to see one happy Loris returning to where it should belong!

Wildlife Watch : Paradoxurus hermaphroditus

June 10th 2005 : Paradoxurus hermaphroditus - Asian Palm Civet, caught at my old house. For the past 3 weeks it has been terrorising chickens. Probably due to shrinking habitat this poor animal has no other food source and forced to take risk and enter human territory. This nocturnal omnivore releases a sickly-sweet odor from it's anal scent gland. Luckly this fella has been released back to it's habitat far from human settlement at a secondary jungle near my house.

On 9th June 2005, i followed my friend to Tanjung Bin Coal-Fired Power Plant to help him out with CCTV installation at one of the 700MW terminal. The whole project costs about RM 7.8 Billion and expected to be completed by 2007.
